I hereby announce the plan for my upcoming computer's configuration!!! Although i won't be buying the components just yet, I expect things won't changed much for the next month when i get to HK. This computer's gonna be one totally configured for my normal usage: rendering with 3dsmax, photoshoping, encoding, and handling extremely large (torrented) files. I don't play much games, and therefore i only choose a mediocre display card. Originally i was looking for a Quadro graphics card for my 3dsmax, but they're all expensive like HELL... So i made a necessary compromise.

For the HD i'm gonna "transplant" the one i'm now using in my mobile hardisk to this new computer, and so the cost of the HD is excluded. The DVD burner comes from the one from another old computer of mine, so it also excluded.

It's a computer completely tailored for my use~ Lovely. That 2GB of ram can give me some maneuverability when opening psd files sized over 100MB, or while rendering some complicated scenes. I can even buy two extra 2GB ram in the future since the MB has 4 DIMM slots, giving a total of 6GB of ram~ That 3rd from the top quad core CPU renders almost 7 times faster than my old P4 2.4GHz CPU, allowing me to render much more effects (like my favorite depth of field effect~) and complex scenes. I originally plan for an cheaper computer, but with the price slash of the Q6600 and the power i get for 3dsmax rendering from this quad core CPU, i would regret not buying this new hotie - although it comes with the increase in budget for not only the more expensive CPU, but also the more expensive MB which support Kentsfield.
